Approximate value
Pi is commonly approximated as 3.14 or 3.14159. For many everyday calculations, people also use 22/7 as a rough approximation.
Why the digits continue forever
Pi is an irrational number. That means it cannot be written exactly as a fraction of two whole numbers, so its decimal expansion goes on forever without repeating in a fixed pattern.

Circumference of a circle
C = 2πr
If you know the radius, multiply by 2π to find the distance around the circle.
Area of a circle
A = πr²
If you know the radius, square it and multiply by π to find the area inside the circle.
Radians
π radians = 180°
Pi also appears in angle measurement. Radians connect circle geometry directly to trigonometry.
Why the ratio stays constant
The size of the circle changes, but pi does not.
A small circle still has pi
If a circle has diameter 2, its circumference is about 6.283. Divide circumference by diameter and you still land at pi.
